Abington Surgical Center was founded by a group of physicians in 1989 who believed there was a better way to deliver surgical services.

That better way meant doing surgical procedures in an outpatient setting specially designed and staffed for surgery and surgery alone—sending people home the same day instead of incurring the financial and emotional costs of spending one or more unnecessary nights in a hospital.

Since then, outpatient surgery centers like Abington have become the preferred location for a growing list of surgical procedures. Our Center is nationally recognized as one of the oldest and largest of its kind, licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and certified by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Abington Surgical Center pioneered outpatient surgery in Pennsylvania. We are the preferred site for surgery for an impressive list of doctors who know that they can offer their patients the finest in care and convenience, using the latest technology in their surgical specialties.

Temporary privileges will be granted quickly after completion of this application. Finalization of privileges is done on a quarterly basis.
